**Composite Technician**
**The position**
We are looking for a Composite Technician to be responsible for performing a full range
of aircraft composite duties including disassembly, modification, repair, and reassembly
of complex aircraft composite items/components. Other key responsibilities include:
- Repair, fabrication or modification of airframe composites as assigned in accordance with
approved technical instructions.
- As a member of the AAR team, work to achieve quality, cost and time commitments.
- Assist in mentoring Apprentice Technicians.
- Perform inspections, use SRM/drawings to determine serviceability of part/structure by
- fully assessing the damage to part/component.- Use SRM and other approved documents to select and perform repairs to the applicable
- standard.- Map damage, check against limits and send assessment to ACA or engineering for
- validation.- Actively participate in AAR Windsor’s Safety Management System (SMS) including
reporting safety hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understands and
promotes the company safety policy.

**Skills, Qualifications and Competencies**
- Must have High School diploma or equivalent
- Vacuum bagging experience an asset
- Perform hot bond repairs
- Clear understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS)
- Knowledge and skilled use of the tools of the trade
- Must have own set of tools and toolbox (specialty and calibrated tools provided)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and Power Point
- Ability to select and use repair instructions to access the serviceability of the affected
component and perform the repair within the standards of airworthiness while using
the correct tools and equipment
- Clear understanding of manufacturers and regulatory documentation, including
technical documentation
- Must have composite training or willing to attend a paid level 1 & level 2 course from
approved provider
in relation to composite materials, resins and solvents
- Grind, layup, sand and finish fiberglass/carbon fiber repairs
