**Health & Safety Coordinator**

**Position Description**:

We are currently looking for a highly skilled, caring, and safety focused individual for our Buttcon Team. Reporting to the Director of Safety, the Field Level Health & Safety Coordinator plays a vital role in assisting the Superintendent(s) and project team with all aspects of project health and safety.

The role is based on 40 hours a week (Monday thru Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm with a half hour lunch) and one project location. The role may require slight modifications in work times and may also include some travel to other projects for assistance in inspections and investigations (as directed).

**Here’s What You’ll be Responsible for**:

- Assist with project safety start up by writing plans and hazard assessments.
- Maintain the project safety board/centres.
- Conduct safety orientations.
- Conduct project safety inspections, communicate inspection results, and file reports.
- Conduct project hazard assessments, communicate hazards, and file reports.
- Conduct daily hazard assessments with Buttcon personnel.
- Write and deliver safety talks.
- Write, review, implement and communicate safe work plans and safe job procedures
- Inspect first aid kit, fire extinguishers and other life saving devices on the project
- Collect, review and file subtrade safety documentation.
- Where required, chair and host (or attend) Joint Health & Safety Committee Meetings (type and distribute meeting minutes).
- Where required, facilitate Worker Trade Committee Meetings (type and distribute meeting minutes).
- Provide administrative support to members of the Buttcon safety department (as required).
- Act as a liaison between workers and management, clients, and visitors on safety related items.

**Qualification Requirements**:

- There are times where the Health & Safety Coordinator may be asked to work odd shifts or outside of their usual work hours (hours will be taken off in lieu of time as pre-arranged with their immediate supervisor).
- There may be a requirement to be on-call after hours or weekends; these shifts will be coordinated in advance through the supervisor and other Safety Department personnel.
