Public Library has a** temporary **job opening for a **Courier and Operations Support.**

**Summary**:
The Courier and Operations Support will provide delivery service for the Library, including
transport of materials to Library sites; picking up and delivering mail, supplies and Library
materials on a regular and efficient schedule; minor repairs and clean-ups at all sites; and
moving of equipment and furniture.

**Salary**:$24.95 per hour***
**Hours**:35 hours per week***

**The successful applicant**:

- Operate Library vehicle to pick up and deliver materials, cash deposits, etc. in a safe and

efficient manner.
- Carries out minor repairs and advises when external repair services are needed.
- Conducts basic receiving duties for supplies, furniture, and other items.
- Custodial tasks including: moving furniture, re-stocking and tidying public washrooms,

setting up equipment, and occasional clearing of snow from Library walkways as directed.
- Maintains emergency equipment and tools in the Library.
- Inventories various building related supplies and requests more when needed.
- May provide instruction to casual courier staff.
- Responds to after-hours emergency calls, for which there is compensation.
- Stays current with developments and emerging trends within the field and the community

as it applies to enhancement of services in support of the library as a learning organization.

**Applicants must have**:

- Secondary school graduation.
- Ontario Class “G” Driver's license in good standing.
