**Position Description**:
The Department of Paediatrics, SickKids is looking for an **Intermediate Financial Analyst** to join the Department’s Finance Team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Finance, you will provide support and oversee the Paediatric Consultants Partnership financial operations. An exciting opportunity to manage the financials of the Partnership - a business unit that manages physician billings and related physician expenses. In this role, you will take ownership by providing full cycle accounting support for this business entity, in the areas of financial reporting, audit, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and banking.

**Here's What You'll Get To Do**:

- A unique role, separate from the Hospital or Research Finance Departments, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the Paediatric Consultants accounting system, completing all delegated month-end processes and reporting activities for the Partnership.
- Record on-going operating cheque payments, EFTs and perform bank deposits.
- Involvement in financial planning through cash flow forecasting and analysis.
- Prepare bank reconciliations for both the Paediatric Consultants and Department of Paediatrics bank accounts.
- Validate and execute monthly physician payroll by reviewing physician contracts, and ensuring payment accuracy.
- Maintain the general ledger through preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis and commentary of financial results.
- Maintain timely and accurate monthly, and year-end close process, including financial statement preparation.
- Participate with the year-end audit process by preparing audit schedules, providing supporting documentation and responding to queries from external auditors, and initiating action on auditor’s recommendations.
- Liaising with accounting firm for required taxation forms for physician members
- Point of contact for** **physician allowances by corresponding with multiple divisions, tracking and reporting back spend and availability on a timely basis.
- Participate in annual Paediatric Consultants budget development, utilizing forecasting and trending analysis.
- Provide administrative support to clients, including onboarding of new physicians and administrative assistants.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis, and/or other assignments as assigned by Department of Paediatrics leadership team.

**Here's What You'll Need**:

- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a medium to large business organization.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
- Completion or working towards completion of a professional accounting designation preferred (CPA).
- Experience with QuickBooks, PeopleSoft Financial, and Qlikview would be an asset.
- Self-starter with strong desire to look for opportunities for improvements in processes, reports, data analysis, etc.
- Previous experience in a Healthcare or University environment would be an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with department managers, external auditors and all levels within the department
- Commitment to collaborative teamwork, with a passion for process simplification.
- Sound knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting, banking related activities and bank reconciliation.
- Highly organized, analytical and detail-oriented.
- Excellent computer skills with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with reporting tools
