Position Summary
Senior Network Specialist, Parking and Security Services

On a practical level, you will
- Operate and maintain the security systems including CCTV, key control, access control system, shared drives, servers, storage arrays, switches and supporting infrastructure
- Install, test, configure, monitor and support all network hardware and equipment, including network backbone, core and edge switches, routers, Wi-Fi, IDS/IPS, network monitoring services
- Setup and maintain IP addresses and IP design, name resolutions (DNS), VPN tunnels, network routing, VLANs, Firewall rules and policies.
- Secure the Security network by developing and implementing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation systems, maintaining documentation.
- Maintain inventory of equipment and parts as well as documentation of configurations, standards, and vendor activities.
- Design networks, and to specify, acquire, test, configure, and install their components (including hardware, software, and cabling), so as to implement networks as designed.
- Work co-operatively with staff of Hospital service departments and outside contractors to ensure the provision and maintenance of adequate and appropriate physical facilities (including equipment sites, power supplies, etc.) to support the Security network.
- Act as the primary contact for security systems, infrastructure and troubleshooting Security System issues
- Respond to incidents system failures and related hospital codes as required
- Support the adherence of Security guidelines, policies and procedures in collaboration with the manager
- Maintain optimal system functionality by performing regular audits and flagging issues to the manager as they arise
- Provide support to Security Operations Center (SOC) during critical situations
- Coordinate projects to meet security system needs

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary diploma or degree in information technology or in a related field or an equivalent mix of education and work experience.
- Certified Network Engineer designation an asset.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience designing, installing, supporting and maintaining enterprise wireless, wired and wide area data communications networks
- Proficient with firewalls, intrusion prevention and perimeter security appliances such as those from Palo Alto Networks, Check Point and Cisco.
- Certification in an access control platform - preferred
- Project Management Experience - preferred
