**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Fleet Supervisor - Planning and Administration role involves overseeing and managing the various activities related to fleet planning, service request management, and inventory control. The position includes direct responsibility for Fleet asset acquisition, disposal, life cycle planning, fleet data management systems, service and inventory systems.

The Fleet Supervisor will be expected to perform these functions in compliance with established standard operating procedures, as well as departmental and corporate policies. They will need to adhere to sound vehicle and equipment principles and practices, with a primary focus on delivering quality customer service and continuous improvement processes.

The Fleet Supervisor will be accountable to and report directly to both the Fleet Manager and the Financial Management/Budgeting Specialist.

**City of Moncton Salary and Wage Scale**

**EDUCATION**:

- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Post-secondary education from a recognized institution in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
- Mechanical Trade Qualification and/or Automotive Service Technician Certification would be an asset.
- Certified Automotive Fleet Manager or equivalent would be an asset.

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in coordinating vehicles and fleet maintenance, performing technical research, developing administrative procedures, vehicle specification writing, and presenting comprehensive reports.
- Knowledge and experience in public sector procurement and specification writing.
- Demonstrated knowledge of fleet-related relevant legislation, codes, standards, and principles of safety management.
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience with a proven ability to organize and direct work resources and personnel.
- Proven experience in project management, including using DMAIC and WBS.
- Experience in work requiring time management and scheduling of multiple projects and tasks to achieve goals.

**LANGUAGE**:
English is essential. The ability to function in both official languages English and French is an asset, but not a requirement.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:

- Advanced proficiency in Fleet Management System (Assetworks), Geotab and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to write technical reports and specifications documents.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of vehicle and equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of equipment, tools and materials used in maintenance activities and services.
- Must understand principles of budgeting
- Familiarity with federal, provincial, and municipal regulations governing municipal fleet equipment acquisition, use, maintenance, and disposal.
- Ability to develop and recommend systems and procedures related to assigned operations.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to organize, implement and direct vehicle maintenance operations and activities.
- Initiative and judgement in directing employees, procurement and assignment of vehicles and equipment.
- Familiarity with New Brunswick Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
- Knowledgeable with the Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS)
- Must have and maintain a valid New Brunswick Class 5 driver's license.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with internal customers working to deadlines where maintenance and repairs are crucial to service delivery.

- The employee will be required to use proper judgment when directing the activities of employees, procurement and assignment of vehicles and equipment as required.
