**ABOUT THE ROLE**
EQ Building Performance is a collaborative consulting firm. Our mission is to guide the creation of responsible buildings. We bring together architects, developers, and building owners to create high performance buildings and communities.
Our core services include energy modeling, sustainability consulting, advanced energy system feasibility studies, building labelling, commissioning, and resource metering / verification services.
EQ is seeking an Energy Analyst to join our growing team. The Energy Analyst develops and analyzes detailed energy models to advise our clients on optimal performance. This is an entry-level or early career position that is an exceptional opportunity to enter the sustainable design industry with one of Canada’s leading firms.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Develop building energy simulations of new construction projects for the purpose of design optimization, energy budgeting, LEED/Toronto Green Standard/Zero Carbon compliance, energy code compliance, and procurement of energy efficiency incentives.
- Prepare energy modeling reports and communicate results to clients.
- Support integrated design workshops to evaluate design alternatives in real time.
- Analyze post construction energy consumption data and compare to models.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s or masters degree in engineering, architecture / building science, or a closely related field.
- Eligible to pursue designation such as P.Eng., CET, BEMP, or CEM.
- Experience with energy simulation tools is an asset, particularly eQuest and EnergyPlus.
- Demonstrated interest in the sustainable buildings industry. Exposure to sustainable and low-carbon design concepts through school courses or co-op placements is an asset.
- Prior experience in building energy simulation in a consulting or academic environment is an asset.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Bluebeam is preferred.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Exceptional problem solving and organizational skills.
**WORKING CONDITIONS**
