We are a small, but growing financial services firm operating out of Halifax, NS. We provide our clients with a wide array of valuable and reliable bookkeeping services, including:

- Seamless full suite accounting services on an as needed or dedicated basis;
- Management of payroll and related payroll taxes;
- Filing of GST/HST returns;
- Completion of client specific regular reporting requirements; and
- Preparation for a smooth year-end audit or review.

You are an honest, hard-working, and eager accounting practitioner who can appreciate the opportunity that comes with working for a small firm with a positive and approachable team environment. You have the experience and confidence in your skills to work independently, but also don’t mind working in a team environment. The following education, experience, and attributes are not required, but would be seen as examples of assets to the position:

- Accounting diploma from recognized community college or university degree with concentration in accounting/finance
- Accounting software literacy and ability to transact in multiple programs including, but not limited to QuickBooks, Simply Accounting, Xero. Please include any relevant certifications.
- Payroll experience or training
- Experience in preparing and filing GST/HST returns
- MS Office Suite proficiency (e.g., MS Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Keen attention to detail
- Data entry with high level of accuracy
- Ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities
- Client-service orientation as demonstrated with strong oral and written communication skills

**About the Role**

As a Bookkeeper, your duties and responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following:

- Completion of bookkeeping, accounting, and general finance services to third party clients. This may include payroll processing, accounts receivable management, accounts payable management, posting of transactions, accounting system conversions, cashflow management, budgeting, etc.
- Much of the work can be done remotely; however, at times you may be required to work from the physical location of a third-party client.
- Meet with potential clients when required.
- Any other tasks as required.

**Compensation**

Compensation will be competitive, and negotiable based on the individual. Package will include a base annual salary, variable compensation, and other benefits.
