**Position Summary**

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Manager is a senior member of a committed, hardworking team. The Development Manager has a passion for female empowerment looking to advance MCA’s mission by developing strategies that foster a culture of philanthropy and enhance revenue generation. They have proven experience and success with fundraising, donor stewardship development, and communication strategies. They have knowledge/experience in the areas strategic development, grant writing, marketing, and business development. The individual is a motivated and authentic relationship builder with the ability to engage prospective and current stakeholders in supporting the vital work of Making Changes Association.

The Development Manager’s key responsibilities include:

- Manage and oversee the development and execution of fund development strategy and related activities including donor engagement, granting, donor database, and annual fundraising.
- Manage and oversee strategic communications and marketing.
- Lead a team of two team members - Grant & Donor Relationships Specialist and Marketing & Communications Coordinator.
- Support a philanthropic culture and approach to stakeholder engagement

**Role Details**

**Strategic Leadership Revenue Development & Diversification Planning & Execution**
- Develop and implement an integrated strategy for revenue development and communications, leading the Fund Development & Marketing team to align work plans with annual strategic goals - ensuring success execution of fundraising, marketing and communication priorities to meet revenue targets.
- Manage and oversee the development and implementation of revenue generating activities such as annual giving, planned giving, direct appeals, grant writing, events, third-party collaboration, sponsorships, etc.

**Donor Engagement Strategy**
- Development and implementation of a Donor Stewardship plan with key benchmarks and targets.
- Support the identification of prospects and seek out opportunities to grow and engaged lapsed donors.
- Coordinate the issuing of communication, tax receipts and other donation acknowledgements.

**Strategic Communication - Marketing, Public Relationships and Engagement**
- Develop and execute a marketing & communications strategy and annual workplan in collaboration with the team.
- Ensure consistent marketing and donor messaging, strategies and communications include focus and alignment with donor stewardship and development, and cases for support.
- Attending events and doing presentations on behalf of MCA in support of funding opportunities.

**Donor Database Management**
- Oversee the buildout and development of a donor database, including report building, efficient communication, and best practice integration of existing donor data tracking into fund development database.
- Ensuring data is hygienic and aligned with CRA guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with team to improve upon and initiate database processes and procedures and coach colleagues in the updating and utilization of the donor database.

**Event Management**
- Working collaboratively with the Executive Director and other members of the team, plan and manage donor and fundraising events.
- Ensure events are well-executed, financially successful and contribute to donor engagement and fundraising success.

**Staff Management & Stakeholder Coaching**
- Direct supervision, management, coaching and mentoring of two team members - Grant & Donor Relations Specialist, and Marketing & Communications Coordinator.
- Promote a culture of respect, collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance.
- Coaching and supporting staff, Board and Committee members, and volunteers to reinforce a philanthropic culture.
