Performs tasks related to data management, analysis and interpretation of data. Conducts descriptive and inferential statistical analyses. Helps determine appropriate statistical methodologies to meet specific study objectives. Is a statistical resource for non-statistically trained colleagues. Has a solid understanding of observational study design, and optionally, health economic models.

EMPLOYER: We are an independent consultancy in Vancouver British Columbia, specializing in patient-centered research, epidemiology, evidence synthesis, and health economics. Our team comprises qualitative researchers, epidemiologists, health economists, statisticians, and IT specialists. Our projects are led by senior team members with extensive experience across a wide range of HEOR studies. We have an extensive network of external academic and clinical experts who collaborate on studies that lie within their core areas of expertise.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Data retrieval and management of databases for cohort-based studies, including writing computer programs to generate analytical data sets
- Analytical support for research conducted using quantitative data analysis using descriptive and statistical methodologies
- Work collaboratively on writing scientific papers, providing statistical results, writing methods and result sections, preparing tables and figures
- Work collaborative on writing proposals, including providing a priori power and sample size calculations
- Work with project leads ensuring research design meets study objectives
- Acts as a statistical resource for colleagues, including making graphics and teaching basic statistical concepts to non-statistically trained colleagues and answering coding related questions
- Knowledge designing relational databases would be considered an asset

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Public Health or Epidemiology with a statistical focus
- Extensive knowledge of statistical software packages: R required, SAS not required, but will be considered an asset
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in analysis and interpretation of medical/health related data
- SQL coding not required, but will be considered an asset
- Experience conducting meta-analyses and network meta-analyses is desirable.
- Ability to perform and interpret complex statistical analyses
- Ability to self-motivate
- Managerial, leadership and project management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently within a team environment as well as the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
