**Summary**:Under the direct supervision of the Production Manager, the Production Planner**_ _**interprets and sequences customer order entry, generating daily production schedules and reports, and prepares shipping schedules. This position requires the ability to learn the organization’s product line to establish efficient production schedules. Collaborates frequently with**_ _**buyer and inventory control as well as the production team. This position requires attention to detail, troubleshooting skills and proven time management with computing skills to generate accurate order intake, production schedules, and shipping schedules. Performs detailed duties and assists with manufacturing processes including, but not limited to, production control, order entry, shipping scheduling, and supporting materials management processes when required, in accordance with JELD WEN’s Mission Statement.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Communicates with customers with incoming orders and accurately creates quotes and orders into the system
- Focus on localized site production and delivery schedules, managing the material requirements to ensure on-time and in full deliveries
- Responsible for production scheduling and organization efforts for the plant, including gathering drawings and material specifications as required from the customer
- Reviews and sequences new orders as they arrive, analyzing resource requirements, lead times and production capabilities
- Organizes and prints orders, including pulling drawings and part requirements within the internal resource management system and creates schedules at given points throughout the day
- Serves as the main point of contact for any scheduling changes
- Corresponds consistently with key production stakeholders, including customer care, materials team members, and production leaders
- Sends communication to customer if there are any changes to their product lead time or delays
- Understands and assists with production control, order entry/alterations and materials management processes
- Assists management and staff with new program implementation with training and support as needed
- Attends regular staff meetings with management and disseminates non-confidential information to personnel as needed
- Participates as needed in special department projects as determined by the Production Manager, or other appropriate supervisory personnel
- Solid understanding of Production Planning and Production Scheduling best practices and principles is required
- Integrate with production team to determine the needs and constraints of the manufacturing factory through engagement with functional groups, and schedule work orders accordingly
- Generate weekly/monthly production and capacity plans using systems and processes that support the organization’s goals
- Creates and prints shipping picklist based on best truck route
- Completes order tally, packing slips, bill of lading, and manifests as required
- Sets up dock times and appointments with customers as required
- Books third party carriers as required for shipments
- All other duties as assigned by your Manager

**Qualifications**:

- 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the window and door industry in a scheduling role
- Basic knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques, preferably within the door and window industry, including Inside Sales, Production Control, Order Entry, Scheduling, and Materials Management in general
- A basic understanding of manufacturing process improvement techniques including Continuous Improvement
- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong team skills, including the ability to coach and develop work teams and provide appropriate training as needed to facilitate growth and development.
- The ability to motivate/empower others and resolve conflict
- Must be flexible and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Advanced computer skills an asset (vlookup, pivot tables, basic excel formulas, and extract/imp
