School In The Pool is seeking a dedicated and qualified Swim Instructor/Lifeguard to join our team. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for providing swimming instruction to students, ensuring their safety in and around the pool area, coordinating schedules with the front desk, collecting feedback from parents and students, writing report cards, monitoring student progress, fostering customer retention, and contributing to the overall success of the team.

**Responsibilities**:
Swimming Instruction: Conduct swimming lessons following the curriculum and guidelines provided by LifeSaving Society. Teach students of various ages and skill levels proper swimming techniques, water safety, and stroke development, while creating a positive and engaging learning environment.

Basic Cleaning: Perform routine cleaning tasks in and around the pool area and facility including bathrooms to maintain a clean and safe environment for swimmers. This includes monitoring water quality, cleaning pool decks, organizing equipment, and ensuring proper storage of supplies, cleaning showers, cleaning toilets, cleaning sinks, and any other areas of the bathroom.

Schedule Coordination: Collaborate with the front desk staff to coordinate lesson schedules, class assignments, and any necessary schedule changes. Communicate effectively to ensure smooth operations and optimal use of pool resources.

Parent and Student Feedback: Interact with parents and students to collect feedback on their swimming experience. Address any concerns or inquiries in a professional and timely manner, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Report Cards: Regularly assess student progress and write report cards, providing constructive feedback on their performance, strengths, and areas for improvement. Maintain accurate records of student achievements and advancements.

Student Progression: Continuously track and remember students' skill levels, strengths, and weaknesses. Plan and implement strategies to help students advance to higher skill levels, tailoring instruction to individual needs.

Customer Retention: Foster strong relationships with students and parents to promote customer loyalty and retention. Provide exceptional customer service, address inquiries promptly, and identify opportunities to enhance the overall experience.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow swim instructors, lifeguards, and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and positive team environment. Share knowledge, support colleagues, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

**Requirements**:
Valid Certifications: Possess current certifications in Swim Instructor (from LifeSaving Society) and First Aid/CPR/AED. Maintain certifications and stay updated on best practices in swim instruction and lifeguarding.

Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues. Ability to convey instructions clearly, provide constructive feedback, and address concerns professionally.

Water Safety Knowledge: Thorough understanding of water safety practices, emergency protocols, and the ability to respond quickly and appropriately to any swimming-related incidents or emergencies.

Adaptability and Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the needs of students and the facility. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and adjust instructional methods accordingly.

Customer Service Orientation: Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customer service. Ability to build rapport with students and parents, actively listen to their needs, and address inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally.

Lifeguarding Skills: Proficient swimming skills and strong lifeguarding abilities to ensure the safety of all swimmers. Knowledge of rescue techniques, first aid, CPR, and AED usage

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
