The Translation Coordinator is responsible for translation administration and workflow management, including co-ordinating, scheduling, and assigning work requests, maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This individual is integral to support the need for French communication within The Co-operators group of companies, making efficient use of the translators’ time and reducing the need to send work externally to third-party suppliers.

**How you will create impact**:

- Review requests submitted through the online translation management system by business partners across the group of companies to understand their needs and ensure all information required for the translation process is included; follow-up as needed.
- Prepare and analyze projects for translation in the appropriate translation memory, which reduces costs while increasing efficiency and consistency.
- Assign requests to internal or external translators as per guidelines in place (area of expertise, availability, urgency, confidentiality, timeline, relevant process, etc.); follow-up on status of work as needed.
- Negotiate deadlines with business partners, internal and external translators based on established guidelines (i.e., resource availability, urgency, priority).
- Attend project meetings to advise on translation process and technical requirements, as required.

**To join our team**:

- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical coordinator or project specialist role in a corporate environment, preferably in translation, communication, or a related field.
- A university diploma.
- Proficiency in both English and French is essential to the main duties in this role, including servicing and communicating primarily with majority anglophone and francophone clients, groups, and teams. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
- Proven demonstration of superior administrative/organizational skills and client service/negotiation abilities.
- The ability to schedule and prioritize work based on a broad statement of direction and understanding of the structure of The Co-operators group of companies and work strategies.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with translation support software and resources including Trados, Termium, GDT, Broca, MultiTerm.
