The Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA), under the authority of the Emergency Management Act, leads the coordination and co-operation of all organizations involved in emergencies and disasters. This includes emergency and disaster prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery.

The Alberta Emergency Management Agency is accountable and responsible to the GoA, to Albertans, to their communities, and to industry for the protection of people, their property, and the environment from the effects of emergency events. Alberta relies on a decentralized “system” for managing the various types of emergency events that occur every year. The AEMA accomplishes its objectives by leading the co-ordination, collaboration and co-operation between all entities involved in prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery activities within this diverse system.

**Role Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Director, Logistics Support, in the Strategy, Systems, and Support Branch of the Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA), the Manager, Logistics and Readiness plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless coordination and execution of fleet and facilities, timely and cost effective procurement, distribution, and maintenance of resources that are essential for AEMA daily operations and Provincial Emergency Coordination Centre (PECC) readiness and activation.

**Responsibilities Include**:
Fleet and Facility Operations - Oversee the development and implementation of strategies to optimize AEMA fleet operations, ensuring vehicles are well-maintained, operational, and aligned with regulatory standards. Develop Executive level reporting requirements for the Agency to support and inform all fleet activities.

PECC Readiness - Collaborate with all other PECC Sections (Finance, Plans, Ops/ESS, Safety) to create and maintain deployed resource tracking during PECC activations; enhance documented resource requirements associated with incident objectives; create and maintain procedures for acquisition, coordination and deployment of emergency social services supports in collaboration with Operations Section

Supply Chain Management - Implement strategies and arrangements in advance of/during response activities to procure the necessary supplies and resources for incident response. Maintain the Personal Protective Equipment Strategic Stockpile to ensure readiness year-round.

Networking, training, mentoring and capacity building - provide guidance, advice, feedback and support to the Section staff and provide all learnings and knowledge of tools in an effort to produce growth within. Building trust through engagement, encouraging the development and increased knowledge of all stakeholders, and PECC/AEMA staff.

Documentation, Reporting, and Planning - Ensure Section staff maintain accurate records of resource status, deployments and logistics activities. Oversee the creation and maintenance of the Logistics Section library, enhancing section productivity and retention.
