Job Title: Production Manager
Department: Operations
Reports To: General Manager, Winnipeg Operations
**Summary**:
Reporting to the General Manager of Winnipeg Operations, the Production Manager is responsible for managing a group of product cells and will be fully accountable for the day-to-day activities and performance goals of the manufacturing team. The manufacturing team includes Production Planning, Maintenance, Shipping/Receiving, MV Fabrication, MV Assembly, and OEM Departments the Production Manager must be results-focused and empowered as the primary driving force for a comprehensive production team. The Production Manager will actively participate in quality, safety, and LEAN manufacturing initiatives.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Meet and establish quality targets while actively engaging in auditing and initiating quality improvements. Ensuring on-time delivery targets are met for both internal and external customers.
- Set productivity targets for the respective value streams and cell leaders.
- Ensure continuous improvement targets are met as well as leading continuous improvement initiatives.
- Address and resolve any risks to key performance indicators promptly and formally.
- Ensuring that appropriate gross profit levels are met per product by ensuring that LEAN manufacturing techniques and practices are being utilized.
- Providing consistent and appropriate feedback to direct reports regarding:
- Company policies (ex. Union contract)
- Established procedures (ex. 5S)
- Performance levels
- Coaching, mentorship, and yearly/quarterly goal-setting of direct reports.
- Providing input and direction regarding production cell layouts and processing.
- Conducting daily meetings reviewing/ identifying daily shipping targets and target risks, material issues, machine issues, manpower issues, and safety issues.
- Involvement with weekly production planning.
**Requirements**:
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills combined with demonstrated ability to mentor/coach employees, build teams, resolve conflict, and plan production within a fast-paced environment.
- An engineering or Business/Manufacturing background with a minimum of 5 years of management experience or combined education and work experience in a manufacturing organization.
- A strong LEAN and/or continuous improvement background.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- ISO and Auto Cad experience is preferred but not required.
- Syteline, IFS, or similar scale ERP software knowledge is considered an asset.
- Must be able to travel within Canada and the US and hold a valid passport and driver’s license.
