**SALARY**:$26.35 - $30.93 per hour (2021 rates) **Plus 12% in lieu of all benefits**

The City of New Westminster is seeking a seasonal Summer Daycamp Supervisor to oversee all programs (including, but not limited to day camp type programs), service delivery and staff support within our recreation services department. This position will require travel to various program locations.

**Duties will include the following**:

- Provide front line leadership and guidance to staff and volunteers
- Assist in the delivery of summer day camp and general interest programs and services
- Assist with staff orientations, training and hiring as required
- Assist with staff scheduling and supervision
- Assist with the scheduling and supervision of volunteers
- Assist with staff and program evaluations
- Addressing concerns from customers
- Troubleshoot program and service related issues as they arise
- Order, stock and maintain program supplies
- Support other areas as required
- Complete relevant reports, forms and requests

**Requirements include**:

- Completion of a post-secondary program or courses in recreation or a related field, preferably supplemented by experience in children’s programming, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in working with children
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Program staff supervisory experience
- Ability to use the Microsoft Office suite of software
- PerfectMind software knowledge is an asset
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and daily access to a personal vehicle
- Successfully pass and maintenance of a clear Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector Check
- Water Safety certificates are an asset
- **_Hours will vary; this seasonal auxiliary position will begin work in April at 20hrs per week, followed by progression to additional hours per week when required. A flexible schedule will be implemented, which could include weekday evenings and weekend hours._**
