_Roadways Literacy Academy Saskatoon Inc. is a private independent school & tutoring academy in Saskatoon, SK, specializing in students who learn in different ways. We understand not only the challenges but also the unique gifts that some children possess. Although most of our students have a Specific Learning Disability, namely dyslexia, no matter what the diagnosis (or lack of diagnosis), we strive to work with each child’s uniqueness, meeting students where they are on the learning pathway, and facilitating their journey with our expertise and compassion._
- Roadways Literacy Academy is an elementary/middle School with an enrollment of 35 full time students (Gr 1- Gr 8) and 70 tutoring students with the intention of future growth. If you are an individual who is looking for a small student to instructor ratio and looking to really make a difference in a student’s life, then this position is for you. The school is located at 1438B Fletcher Road, Saskatoon._
- EA's in this role will be responsible for working under the guidance and supervision of the classroom teacher. We are looking for strong individuals who can be leaders in our school and community and alter learning strategies to those of their students. An individual with a special passion in the field of special education would feel very much at home in our environment._
- **Hours**_: starting as soon as possible to end of June-full time with potential of continued employment into September. _
- **Qualifications Required**:_may consist of EA Certificate or equivalent education coupled with workplace experience_
- **Requirements**_:_
- Applicants will have:_
- 1. Ability to carry out teacher directed activities, while supporting an atmosphere of learning in a positive, caring, safe school environment._
- 2. Competence to work well with students from grades 1 through 8 demonstrating patience and understanding, creating strong positive relationships._
- 3. Willingness to communicate and work well with Teachers, creating a strong classroom team._
- 4. Flexibility and understanding when schedule changes happen and new students are admitted_
- 5. Creativity (programming, classroom décor, special events)_
- 6. Willingness to support extra-curricular school activities (e.g. camps, field trips, student plays, etc.)_
- 7. More than 1 year of hands-on experience working with children in a teaching environment_
- 8. Willingness to be an ambassador for our school making a positive contribution to the schools function and activities._
- 9. Input to the administration team to help shape the growth and direction of the school_
