Kennel Attendant

Better Than Home pet boarding is currently hiring for a kennel attendant to join our team
Duties of the position include but are not limited to:

- feeding numerous dogs, cats, and sometimes pocket pets (ie: small caged mammals, reptiles, birds)
- Thoroughly Cleaning any messes in the kennels
- Ensuring fresh water is always available to all of our guests
- Supervising small groups of dogs outside in our full-fenced yard and closely monitoring their behavior at all times.
- Safely mingling dogs into small groups based on energy level, age, breed size, temperament etc.
- Providing force-free corrections immediately to prevent altercations between dogs (ie: squirt of a water spray bottle, saying “hey” Or “no” in a stern voice)
- Administering medications as needed (experience with insulin injections preferred but not required)
- Washing soiled laundry that has accumulated on shift
- Taking accurate inventory of guests’ belongings as they check-in to ensure everything goes home with the rightful owner at the end of stay
- Properly putting away clients files in filing cabinet
- Processing payments (cash, credit/debit) and creating invoices
- Scooping feces in the yard and discarding in the appropriate location
- Sweeping, mopping & dusting surfaces throughout shift.

Position will be 25-40 hours/week. Shifts ranging between 7-3:30 and 4-11.
