**Area Supervisor - Custodial Services**.

As the Area Supervisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our University remains a vibrant and inviting space. From managing Team Leaders to representing Custodial Services on the Occupational Health and Safety Committee, your influence will be felt across our thriving campus.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Lead, manage, and supervise Team Leaders in delivering top-notch custodial services.
- Ensure all Custodial Services team members undergo necessary safety training on Workhub.
- Act as the custodial services representative on the Facilities Management Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and address hazards promptly.
- Collaborate with the Custodial Services Management Team in leading over 70 staff members to maintain a clean and safe environment for all staff, faculty, and students. Plus more - be ready to take on additional related tasks as assigned.

Position Requirements

**What You Will Bring to the Position**:

- Grade 12 education, although a post secondary degree would be preferred;
- A minimum of 5 years of previous experience in Custodial Services;
- A minimum of 3 years of custodial supervisor experience in a similar work environment; and
- Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s License.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

- Proven success in leading and developing teams in a unionized environment. Preference will be given to applicants with Facilities Management experience.
- Financial management experience including the ability to assist in the maintenance and development of budgets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively, diplomatically and tactfully.
- An exceptional client service focus with a proven ability to influence others to provide high quality service in a flexible and responsive manner.
- Proven ability to resolve client complaints and concerns.
- Exceptional problem solving skills and judgement in order to handle, prioritize and organize multiple tasks in order to meet client demands and the department’s mandate.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of databases with a preference for FAMIS, Banner, and CASPUR or equivalent database experience.
- Knowledge of materials and supplies used in the cleaning industry.
- Knowledge as required in the operation of manual and powered mobile custodial equipment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, the general public, external consultants, contractors, and vendors.
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to foster a cooperative and respectful work environment.
- Ability to resolve technical and staff problems as appropriate.
- Ability to work under mínimal supervision, demonstrating sound judgment and decision making skills to ensure quality of one’s own work and staff ability to meet expected standards.
- Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
- Ability to understand and comply with University health and safety requirements, Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, and all safe work procedures and practices applicable to the position.
