**Purpose**:
The Sales Manager will report to the Business Development Manager. This position interfaces with internal and external clients, with the intension of creating great first impression and having a lasting impact on the organization. They will professionally represent the interests of the organization and need to be courteous, professional and helpful. An ability to communicate in a clear and professional manner, to internal and external stakeholders at all levels, is a necessity. This position will require skills with high attention to detail and technical capability.

**RESPONSIBITIES**
- Recommends new initiatives and approaches for sales. Work is self-determined and assigned in terms of objectives, budget and schedule limitations.
- Reviews own work, prepares reports, provides support with proposals and submissions. Interactions require the skill to deal with a broad range of people and situations.
- Works in close collaboration with the TPS - Business Development, Contractor & Estimation and Operations team.
- Achieve growth objectives and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team
- Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company’s customer base and ensure its strong presence
- Owns recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of sales representatives
- Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
- Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team
- Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
- Develops the sales strategy for TPS, ensuring alignment to the organization’s strategic direction.
- Supports prequalification packages, go no go discussions, RFP process, submission and follow up through award to post project.
- Serves as a market resource for developing pricing schedules and rates.

**Technical Knowledge & Skills**
- Knowledge of project management activities, approaches, and techniques.
- Knowledge of agile and traditional project management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of corporate divisions/functions and how they interconnect.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, OneNote).
- Knowledge of customer resource management software principles and concepts

**EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS**

The position requires a diploma, certification, journeyperson or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Electrician, Electrical Technology, or related field with 5 years in a similar role focused on new business opportunities acquisition and growth. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience in electrical estimation and project delivery is an asset.
- Successful previous experience as a sales manager or similar, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
- Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars, and conferences
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
- Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
- Strong business sense and industry expertise
- Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills

**WORKING CONDITIONS**

The position requires extensive travel throughout the designated corporate office/province and beyond (approximately 50% of the time). Work may be completed in a variety of environments such as client organizations, events, etc. Hours outside of normal business hours are required to network with prospects and clients.
