The Health Workforce Strategy and Implementation Division of Ontario Health drives the advancement of health human resources (HHR) initiatives with a focus on building and optimizing health workforce capacity in critical health system areas, supporting priority populations through equitable access to HHR, building provincial HHR data repositories, maximizing and optimizing health professional recruitment supports, and providing crisis response/system stabilization solutions to HHR challenges.
Reporting to the Director, Health Workforce Data, Planning and Evidence, the Manager, Health Workforce Data and Analytics is responsible for providing expert leadership and accountable for ensuring effective data & analytic products, program design, stakeholder, and vendor engagement (where applicable) and implementation of Quality Improvement and measurement frameworks that focus on improving the way data is collected and provisioned to better deliver health care in Ontario.
The manager will provide leading edge expertise and practices, and act as a champion for health workforce data management across the province.
Working in collaboration with other teams within Ontario Health, and a broad range of health system partners, the Manager, Health Workforce Data and Analytics will be responsible for leading their team in the day-to-day planning, management, development and maintenance of health workforce data and analytics to support health workforce and health system capacity planning.
The manager will also champion Ontario Health’s organizational values of inclusion, diversity and anti-racism and promote these within the team.

The Manager, Health Workforce Data and Analytics will lead work in several key areas:
Key deliverables:
- Manages and coordinates the design and development of complex and innovative computer models to analyze and track trends, conduct internal and external environmental scanning, and monitor conditions and issues throughout the province in order to identify, evaluate and forecast implications and impacts of provincial HHR initiatives, programs, program planning, and policy development.- Building the Health Workforce Data team with a focus on delivering on high quality integrated care; areas of focus range from evidence-based staffing models, knowledge sharing and guidance on team-based care models and analysis to performance reporting.- Development, implementation, and maintenance of a provincial distribution mechanism for health workforce reporting. This will include leveraging Ontario Health data as well as identifying, sourcing, and integrating new datasets into the Ontario Health environment (in collaboration with several Ontario Health portfolios).- Development, implementation, and maintenance of a suite of analytic products dedicated to supporting system planning as well as regional workforce planning, including Ontario Health Teams. Areas of focus will range from system level monitoring of vacancy, absenteeism, and distribution of health workforce, interpreting results and making recommendations to support performance reporting.- Oversees the development, evolution and maintenance of standard HHR Dashboards, a Health System Report (a weekly operational view of the state of the Ontario Health system for Ontario Health executives) in partnership with the Business Intelligence team and other key stakeholders across Ontario Health.- Oversees maintains a number of data sources (e.g., administrative data, surveys, registries, proprietary data sets), and obtains access to new datasets to support the analytical activities of CIQP and Ontario Health.- Provides analytics in support of relationship building for OH clinical program areas and Regions as required.- Organizational guidance and portfoli
