**About Safe at Home Society**

The Safe at Home Society (Safe at Home) is a collaborative organization dedicated to ending and preventing homelessness in the Yukon. We bring together various stakeholders, including service agencies, government partners, landlords, and those with lived experience of homelessness to facilitate connections between people and the housing supports they need. With initiatives like the transformation of a former hotel into supportive housing and the operation of the By-Name List, the society is actively involved in advocacy and practical solutions for homelessness across the Yukon**.**

**Job Overview**

The Fund Coordinator is responsible for organizing all financial systems and will streamline the financial planning and reporting for the organization. This position will ensure a strategic approach to supporting the financial growth and development of the organization, providing financial insight and analysis. Alongside the Executive Director and Bookkeeper, this position safeguards the financial status of the organization by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Ensures transfer payment agreements, funding consistency, and compliance;
- Prepares financial reports for funders as required and manages complex partner and funder project reporting systems;
- Establishes and monitors compliance with operating financial policies, procedures, and internal controls;
- In conjunction with the Bookkeeper, provide regular reports on all Society financial activities as required and directed by the Executive Director, including but not limited to bank balances, cash flow;
- Facilitates annual budget preparation and long-term financial planning;
- Provides monthly financial reports to the finance sub-committee and supports quarterly financial reviews to the Board of Directors;
- Provides staff team access to current and accurate information on their projects, and supports managers and staff in their understanding of program and agency finances;
- Compulsory attendance and participation in financial meetings, quarterly board meetings, and supervisions;
- Participate in professional development opportunities and conferences as identified by management;
- Maintain the confidentiality of the Society’s financial business and other private information and records;
- Other responsibilities as they emerge and/or are directed by the ED of Safe at Home.

**Education and Experience**
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance ideal or 2+ years of accounting and/or financial experience with non-profit organizations;
- Skills and solid experience with financial systems, financial reporting, financial and business planning, budget preparation and adherence to statutory, regulatory, and other policy standards and requirements;
- Experience with Canadian financial reporting guidelines for non-profits, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and Canada Revenue Agency regulations and guidelines;
- Sage accounting and reporting package experience a plus.

**Qualifications**
- Self-starter, able to work independently and in groups, demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively;
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Strong interpersonal, and cooperative working skills;
- Maintain the confidentiality of the Society’s financial business and other private
- information and records;
- Advanced communication skills, capable of explaining complex systems in accessible terms;
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex information and workload while meeting timelines and standards;
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word and Power Point presentations required,
- Superior accuracy and attention to detail;
- Ability to maintain confidence and exercise good judgment;
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, synthesize and integrate information to inform practice and long-term planning;
**Work Environment**

This role is based in-office with the occasional need to attend out of office meetings with funders, Board of Directors, or community partners.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $34.00-$36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 25 per week
