**Rotation/Shifts**:
Days, 8 hour shifts.

**What you will do**:
The Advisor, Food and Nutrition Systems will support the Food Service System Manager in operational activities within the department of Nutrition & Food Services. The Advisor will coordinate departmental standards and quality assurance to ensure services provided are cost
- effective, efficient, safe and accurate. The Advisor also works with outside suppliers/vendors to ensure quality standards and processes are adhered to.

**What you will bring**:

- Minimum Grade 12 education;
- Successful completion of a Food Handlers Training Course;
- Minimum of two years’ relevant experience working in Food & Nutrition;
- CBORD or equivalent software experience;
- Experience in financial management of budgets, contracts, and project costs;
- Experience performing quality assurance audits;
- Knowledge of principles of good nutrition and quantity, food preparation and service;
- Familiar with price and portion controls, food ordering and storage methods;
- Knowledge of food handling, safety and sanitation standards and techniques;
- Knowledge of inventory and record-keeping procedures;
- Knowledge of the Standards of Nutritional Care;
- Knowledge of food industry standards, rules and regulations including WHMIS, HACCP, Occupational Health and Safety Act & Regulations;
- Knowledge of therapeutic and ethnic diets, food safety and sanitation codes, WHMIS, occupational health & safety regulations, operating procedures of institutional (hospital) food service equipment;
- Knowledge of hospital food service standards and collective agreements;
- Good written, verbal and listening communication skills;
- Able to communicate effectively with tact and diplomacy;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Good negotiation, analytical, supervisory and conflict management skill;
- Computer skills; able to learn CBORD food service systems, ESS, Oracle, Microsoft office etc;
- Working knowledge of all modules of the CBORD food service systems;
- Excellent financial management skills with budget preparation and analysis;
- Must be a self motivated, results-driven individual who is customer focused;
- Problem solving - identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information and maintain confidentiality;
- Strong written communication - able to edit work, present numerical data effectively and able to read and interpret written information;
- Planning/organizing - prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently;
- Quality control - demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and monitor own work to ensure quality;
- Adaptability - adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.

- Knowledge of the legislative requirements of the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
