Edmonton, Canada The Cataract and Lens Institute Full time

Our busy ophthalmology office, located in the University of Alberta area, is seeking an Cataract Ophthalmic Assistant & Transcriptionist/Oculoplastic Surgical Coordinator for either part-time or full-time work.

Responsibilities include:

- Assisting physicians with ophthalmic examinations in exam rooms, taking history and providing basic ophthalmic screening. Tonometry, Corneal Topograhy, OCT, biometry and other specialized ophthalmic testing would be an asset.
- 2 -3 days/week providing general transcription duties, including preparing letters to be sent to hospitals, clinics and physicians offices, scheduling main and minor procedures, confirming appointments, preparing surgical charts, assisting surgeons during clinic with various tasks such as scheduling follow up appointments, review of forms and surgical information with patients and other surgical coordination duties as required.
- Sanitizing of patient areas, stocking of exam rooms, sterilization and maintenance of specialized ophthalmic clinic equipment and working with other office staff to assist in clinic function
