**The Opportunity**:As the Manager, Property Sustainability, you will play a key role in providing management, administrative, operational, and technical support to Property Managers in the GTA for a diverse portfolio of industrial and office properties. We are looking for an individual who is highly organized, proactive, and passionate about sustainable building operations.

**What You Will Do**:
**Program Implementation & Data Management**:

- Collaborate with the global Sustainable Investing team and provide support to property management teams in aligning sustainability initiatives with client-specific objectives.
- Support onboarding of new properties into sustainability programs, review existing sustainability practices and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Leverage BGO’s proprietary sustainability and utility data management systems to identify key trends and opportunities to drive operational and sustainability performance, proposing innovative solutions, in accordance with client goals.
- Assist with setting property-level targets and developing implementation plans for improving energy efficiency, greenhouse gas emissions, water usage and waste management.
- Ensure data integrity in database systems, and support and manage data entry and access to data as necessary.

**Tenant Engagement & Green Leasing**:

- Foster open communication and collaboration with tenants and provide support to their sustainable performance goals, develop, and implement strategies to minimize environmental impact including, energy, water, waste efficiency & GHG reduction initiatives/practices.
- Collaborate with tenants and property management teams on sustainability initiatives, including but not limited to automated metering solutions, energy/water/waste data collection, renewable energy, green leasing, etc.
- Stay up to date and promote awareness of sustainability government grants and initiatives that benefit a diverse range of tenants.

**Internal Engagement & Reporting**:

- Support corporate reporting initiatives and provide information relating to buildings’ sustainability achievements.
- Stay informed about market trends and industry standards, with a focus on sustainable building operations.
- Stay current with new technological and regulatory developments, grants, incentives, and market trends relevant to ESG investments in commercial real estate.
- Assist in the development of property sustainability policies and standards.
- Assist property teams with technical insight, submissions and advise on industry trends for sustainability benchmarks and third-party sustainability certifications including ENERGY STAR, Fitwel, BOMA BEST, LEED, etc.

**Who You Are**:

- Be a client-first team player with 2-3+ years of experience in sustainability management, including experience in the commercial real estate and/or property management space.
- Preferably have an undergraduate university degree or the equivalent in environmental sciences, energy management, business/commerce, physics, or other relevant disciplines.
- Accreditation in energy management, sustainability, or related fields (e.g. LEED GA/AP, CEM, etc.) is considered an asset.
- Demonstrate an advanced understanding of sustainability metrics related to real estate assets, including environmental and social metrics.
- Be a self-starter and project manager with the ability to deliver high-quality work products. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, and we value communication styles that contribute to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Possess strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Demonstrate a track record for developing and sustaining cooperative working relationships at varying levels of an organization. Adaptability to different communication styles is appreciated.
