The Utility Locator plays an integral role in marking underground utilities and meeting our high-quality standards. telMAX Damage Prevention Technicians will locate, mark underground utilities including telecommunications, power, gas, water and more (with spray paint and flags) and record underground utilities.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Safely locate underground utilities accurately using utility record systems and electronic locating equipment.
- Field mark and document utility locates using locate work management software and following prescribed documentation procedures.
- Complete locate requests assigned by Coordinator accurately and in a timely manner.
- Understand and utilize infrastructure records in planning/completing utility locates.
- Safely operate a company provided vehicle.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

**Required Knowledge and Experience**
- Valid Ontario (G) Driver’s License and clean drivers record.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- The ability to problem solve and demonstrate good judgment as situations dictate
- The ability to physically walk in and out of ditches, on uneven surfaces, lifting and loading equipment up to 9kg (20 lbs) in and out of the vehicle several times per day, carry/swing 20lbs of equipment while walking.
- The ability to work in all types of weather.
- Ability to work independently and stay productive under mínimal supervision.
- Ability to work long hours when required to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work accurately and problem solve under pressure.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work to timelines.
- Ability to interact with customers in a professional manner.
- Experience with public locates, private locates and pre-engineering locates.
- Prior construction experience is considered an asset.
- ORCGA DPT100/DPT200 trained is an asset.
