**Company Description**

Idea Lab Kids Stouffville provides classes, workshops, camps, and birthdays ranging from Science, Engineering, Robotics, 3D visual Art and cooking. Each class, camp, and activity are carefully constructed to provide the ultimate Design-Based-Learning environment while providing a FUN hands-on experience. From figuring out mechanics of spaceship engineering using recycled materials to creating scrumptious desserts in our Culinary Arts series, our Idea Labbers are provided the necessary tools to QUESTION, LEARN and INVENT "Out-of-the-Box" solutions through, Arts, Sciences, Technology, Creativity and Natural Play.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the daily operation of camp programming
- Build strong and positive relationships with campers and their parents
- Ensure the overall safety and oversight of campers in accordance with policy and procedures
- Provide direct supervision, support/assistance and feedback to instructors, co-instructors, and instructor helpers as needed and requested
- Work collaboratively with appropriate instructor on the content of the instructional aspects of the camp and related activities
- Refine outdoor activities based on campers’ needs and interests
- Evaluate instructors’ job performance throughout the summer
- Work with parents to address any specific requirements for campers and to resolve any concerns or issues related to camps.
- Ongoing communication with camper parents/guardians and staff members
- Respond to first aid situations
- Responsible for sign in/sign out of campers
- Float in and out of the classrooms as needed
- Drop off and pick up supplies for the camps when needed
- Report all incidents, accidents, issues, and concerns to the Director
- Complete all formal paperwork (accident, incident, staff attendance, etc.)
- Get familiar with the curriculum in advance of classes and ensure all supplies required for the activities are available
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested
- Clean/ Organize/ Sanitize as needed
- Treat children, parents, and coworkers with respect
- Responsible, punctual, and friendly

**Education and Experience**
- Currently enrolled in Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years working with children/youth between 4-14 years required
- Experienced with working in a summer camp environment and supervising staff
- Experienced with or studied in the STEAM related program: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics required
- Passionate about teaching and experienced in motivating children to learn and explore new ideas
- Education related to Child/Youth, Early Childhood Education, Education or Social Work preferable
- Standard First Aid + CPR certification
- Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9 weeks

**Salary**: From $19.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Supplemental pay types:

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (required)

**Experience**:

- coaching/mentoring: 1 year (required)
- Supervising: 1 year (required)
- camp counselling: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) (required)
- CPR Certification (required)

Shift availability:

- Day Shift (preferred)

Work Location: One location
