**Position Summary**
**Job Duties/Responsibilities**
- supporting students in an Interactions program
- assisting students with communication, social interaction, behaviour and academic skills
- assisting with planning and adapting curriculum to meet the individual needs of students under the guidance of the teacher
- providing one-on-one and small group support with literacy and numeracy
- utilizing assistive technology to support student learning
- supervising students at school arrival and departure, lunch, recess and field trips
- assisting students with personal care including toileting
**Education/Qualifications**
- a two year post secondary program in a related field
- a minimum of two years of related experience preferably in an educational environment
- experience working with and providing interventions to students who have developmental delays and learning disabilities
- experience supporting students who have emotional and/or behavioural challenges and physical/medical disabilities
- proven ability to implement effective de-escalation strategies
- excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- proven success in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
- NVCI, First Aid
**Rate of Pay**
$22.64 - $28.70 per hour
