**THE OPPORTUNITY**

Reporting to the VP of Talent & Services, this position is responsible for Highstreet’s learning and development strategy. You will manage the design, execution, facilitation, evaluation and continuous improvement of all learning and development programs. This position ensures employees receive the necessary training to complete their jobs, enabling them to fulfil their potential within the organization.

**Specific responsibilities**:

- Translate strategic business needs into learning and development programs that are values-based and aligned with our business goals.
- Partner with leaders to identify knowledge and skills gaps and create innovative role-specific internal learning and development roadmaps.
- Deliver and facilitate dynamic classroom and virtual training, utilizing adult learning principles and various teaching methods (e.g., presentations, workshops, small group exercises, role plays, etc.) to effectively deliver a high-quality learning experience.
- Conduct evaluations to measure effectiveness of programs and material.
- Keep up to date on the latest training, learning, and development techniques. Research and recommend new training methods.
- Ensure that statutory training requirements are met.
- Oversee training and development budget.

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE**
- Proven experience managing the learning and development function of a mid-sized organization, with ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate).
- Recognized education/formal training in Human Resources, Education, Adult Learning, Instructional Design or a related discipline (Degree or Certificate).
- 5 - 7 years of combined experience in Human Resources or Organizational Development
- Experience with classroom facilitation and online training content/instructional design.
- Enthusiastic, energetic, and experienced facilitator.
- Experience creating yearly training plans and materials for all departments.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook including exceptional PowerPoint and presentation design skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with strong initiative to continuously challenge teams.
- Must be a person of integrity, capable of excellent judgement and decision-making skills, showing the utmost discretion in the tone and words used to convey information.
- Willingness to travel within AB and BC to provide onsite training.
- Experience with training in the construction industry is considered an asset.
