Dalhousie Yacht Club in St. Catharines is seeking a camp counsellor for the DYC Learn to Sail school this summer. We are excited to be expanding our instructional program, having access to a fleet of Laser Picos, Bytes, 420s and Kirby 25s.

We are looking for a responsible, and motivated individual with an ability to relate to children and youth. We are also looking for a team player to act as a role model for our young sailors, creating a positive learning experience and nurturing environment.

**We welcome applicants who**:

- Are available to work throughout the summer (July and August weekdays. 8:00 to 5:30)
- Are at least 16 years old, as of June 29, 2023
- Have strong leadership, and organisational skills
- Hold current First Aid, CPR certification & Boat Safety certification (or are in working on these qualifications)
- Enjoy working with children and youth, and previous experience working in a camp setting is an asset
- Hold a Pleasure Craft Operators Card and have experience driving a motor

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Working directly with sailors, during both water and land activities, under the guidance of the Head instructor
- Working as part of the instructional team to provide a safe, positive learning environment
- Responsible operation and care of coach boats, sailboats and the sail training area
- Provide before and after care program care for younger sailors as required

(8:00 - 8:30; 4:00- 5:30)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 2 months

**Salary**: $15.50-$18.50 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

- ST. CATHARINES, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
