The perfect fit is an exceptional, engaged, excited and dedicated individual who has a genuine passion for food as well as supporting children's success in learning and has experience both working in a kitchen and working with children between 2.5 - 4.5 years of age with varying abilities.
- Valid Standard First Aid/CPR Level C Certificate
- A clear Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check - no older than 6 months
- An up-to-date immunization record as per new Ministry Requirements - including TB test
- A current food handlers certificate
- Well-developed interpersonal skills including both written and oral
- Excellent professional and best practice skills with colleagues, families and other professionals
- Ability to work as part of a committed and dedicated team
- Ability to manage time and workload
- Willingness to be flexible, versatile, and/or tolerant in a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to follow a pre-designed menu
- Has a love for being around children

**Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to**:
**Classroom**:

- Supporting the children as needed throughout the classroom work periods, outdoor times, transitions, lunch, diapering/toileting, arrival and dismissal.
- Be an active, positive participant and attend in functions, conferences, family events, staff meetings as needed.
- Provide safe and nurturing supervision and daily programming of preschool children.
- Guide, model and support a calm positive environment for the children.
- Engage actively with the children to support enriched learning experiences.

**Kitchen**:

- Portioning out AM snack, Lunch and PM snack
- Washing and sanitizing dishes/cups/pots/pans, etc.
- Being aware of allergies and food restrictions
- Cleaning and disinfecting the kitchen
- Time management in getting everything done on time

**Salary**: $19.00-$20.00 per hour

- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
