**Position: Dietary Planner (Cook)**

**Licensed Child Care Location: 11 Park Ave, St Thomas,ON**

**Start Date**:As soon as possible

**Compensation: $31,687.50 annually**

**Schedule**:

- 7.5-hour workday Monday through Friday (no weekends)
- 37.5-hour work week

**In this role, you will**:

- Primarily preparing nutritious snacks and meals for the childcare facility and provide snack support to local YMCA School Age Programs.
- Responsible for ordering and purchasing food for programs while maintaining budget requirements.
- Strong knowledge of the Canada Food Guide, to plan meals and meet the individual needs of each child’s diet due to health or religious restrictions.
- To participate in consultation, problem solving and sharing of resources with Director, centre team and other department dietary planners
- Ensure supervision and safety of children at all times; Understand and comply with provincial (CCEYA), municipal and YMCA policies and procedures
- Understand and comply with provincial (CCEYA), municipal and YMCA policies and procedures and public health regulations

**Education and Skills Qualifications**:

- Hold a Valid Food Handler’s Certification recognized by public health is required
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification or include the date of training scheduled within the next three months. Training cost and time is at the expense of the applicant and not reimbursed.
- Applicants are required to be a minimum of 18 years of age to acquire a current Vulnerable Criminal Reference Check (less than 6 months old)
- Up-to-date immunizations required by Public Health and the Ministry of Education and YMCASWO
- Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort: lifting to 20 kg (44 lbs.), bending and stooping
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
