**Co-op Student - Program and Contract Management - Fall 2024**

Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Hybrid

Annual salary: $1,792.24 - $2,257.45 biweekly

**What you'll do**-
- The location of the position for this co-op postings is: Edmonds office, Burnaby, BC.
- The BC Hydro Program and Contract Management - Stations Hazards Programs team is looking for a Co-Op Work
- Program Manager for a 4 or 8 month term to participate in the delivery of the projects and programs that support BC
- Hydro’s initiatives to meet Environment Canada’s deadline to phase out equipment containing Polychlorinated Biphenyls
- (PCBs) in concentrations > 50ppm from our generation, substation and distribution systems by the end December 2025.
- Our Work Program Managers are responsible for the delivery of projects and work in cross-functional, multi-disciplinary
- projects are successfully completed safely, with quality, within budget, and on time. The work you could be engaged in
- includes:
- Complete project management activities including scoping, planning, managing, monitoring, and reporting on project tasks

by using advanced skills in Microsoft Office as well as project management programs to ensure progress to agreed scope,
- schedule and costs in projects and programs- Create project documents such as project plans, change notices, action logs, communication plans, status reports to

enable effective management throughout the project lifecycle.- Coordinate post project reviews, including completion documentation to ensure projects are closed as required.
- Maintain meaningful relationships across the team and with project stakeholders, including engineers and field crews,

through regular communication using excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills enabling timely progression of
- projects.
- As a Co-op student, you will learn and experience:
- Practical, hands-on work experience directly related to your specific field of study.
- Learning and training opportunities, including opportunities to network with your division.
- Learn all about other divisions and initiatives at BC Hydro.

**What you bring**

post-secondary institution in Canada
- Enrolled in undergraduate program in Engineering, Business, Economics or related discipline, Engineering preferred
- Project Management or Contract Management coursework, preferred
- Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills and the ability to

work efficiently, independently and in a team environment.
The individual should be:

- Dynamic and energetic, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- A strong communicator
- Solutions focused and accountable
- Organized and able manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Interested in learning more about electrical or mechanical equipment and systems in a substations environment
- Interested in learning about regulatory and environmental compliance in a utility setting

**What we offer**
- As a condition of employment at BC Hydro, a background check clearance will be required.
- All positions will be hired first as a four month work term. For some positions, there is opportunity to extend, to eight

months.
- Students are expected to work at the job location for their co-op role and it is the student’s responsibility to relocate

themselves if necessary.
