Hiring Unit: University Advancement, Communications
Supervisor: Associate Director, Communications
**Salary**: $16.50 per hour
Classification: Classification B
Start and end date of employment: November 27, 2023 to March 15, 2023
Estimated hours of work per week: 28 hours
POSITION COVERED BY AMUSE-PSAC BARGAINING UNIT- Assist with the migration of the McGill News website to a new content management system; ensure all images and copy are aligned with updated standards.- Performs daily updates and testing on the Campaign/Giving website.- Provides technical support such as web edits for the Alumni website.-
- Compiles and updates training manual and resources as required for iModules training materials.-
- Perform other related responsibilities as required.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities- Demonstrated knowledge of basic HTML and CSS.- Experience with website management systems, such as WordPress.- Demonstrated knowledge of responsive design, in addition to best practices in usability and accessibility.- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work autonomously and to interact and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholder groups.- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.- Demonstrated knowledge of basic HTML and CSS.- Experience with website management systems, such as WordPress and Drupal.- Demonstrated knowledge of responsive design, in addition to best practices in usability and accessibility.- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work autonomously and to interact and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholder groups.- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English. French spoken and written. Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4 on a scale of 0-4.
