**This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Applicants must meet the program's criteria to be eligible for this position. The position will be funded from the project hire date to September 2, 2023.**

**OVERVIEW**

Our Business Events and Major Events teams are responsible for selling Ottawa as a destination for meetings and conventions, major events, sport events, and group tour businesses. Projects that regularly support the two business units include supporting the sales managers in a range of areas such as data entry into the CRM, client servicing, and research.

Key Competencies
- Strong customer service focus and ability to work with a team
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office 365
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Proficiency in using database/CRM software
- Knowledge of the tourism industry

Primary Areas of Responsibility
- Support the Researcher, Business Events & Major Events with research
- Assist the Client Services Specialist with, research, client gifting
- Assist the Researcher, Business Events with building a list of external contacts
- Provide administrative and operations support to employees on the Business and Major Events team
- Accurately enter Business & Major Events data into the CRM system

Essential Qualifications
- Hospitality and Tourism industry experience
- Knowledge of the Meeting Planning and/or Major Events/Sport Event hosting industries
- Strong customer service focus
- Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office Software

Assets
- Understanding of relational databases; experience working with CRMs and/or sales database management systems (i.e. IDSS, Salesforce)
