Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (35 hours per week)

Job Reports To: Development Officer, Annual & Planned Giving

**Key Activities**:
Reporting to and working alongside the Development Officer, Annual & Planned Giving, the Development Associate will support the review and consolidation of paper and electronic files pertaining to bequests and other planned gifts, past fundraising campaigns, appeals and projects. Additionally, and time permitting, the incumbent will support the Events and Stewardship team in the updating and reformatting of a shared database.

**Skill Requirements**:

- A strong interest in fundraising, and/or library and information science, particularly in a performing arts setting;
- Attention to detail, precision and adaptability;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Must be able to maintain discretion and absolute confidentiality at all times;
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge 7 and NXT are assets;
- Knowledge of the arts and an understanding of fundraising principles are assets;
- Ability to communicate in both official languages (English and French) is essential.

**Who Can Apply**:

- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment.
- Must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
- Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents who identify as women, Indigenous, Black, Persons of Colour (IBPoC), persons from the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and persons with disabilities.

**International students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible. As the objective of the Canada Summer Jobs program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student’s time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market.
