Advanced Oxidation Laboratory Intern

Position Summary
Perform routine analysis for water samples. Provide support for Advanced Oxidation Projects by conducting bench-scale and pilot-scale treatment experiments on chemically contaminated water samples
Accountabilities
Performs various tasks as part of Trojan’s CAG Team.
Perform routine analysis for water samples from clients.
Performs bench-scale and pilot-scale treatment tests on synthetic and client water samples
Performs instrumental chemical analysis of water samples using LC/MS/MS, HPLC, GC/MS and UV spectrophotometry and other analytical techniques
Carry out independent water treatment research projects as assigned
Generates high quality data through attention to detail
Performs data reduction using instrument software and Microsoft Excel
Carry out routine lab maintenance
Carefully documents all experimental conditions and results
Willing to work with hazardous chemicals while prioritizing health and safety

**Qualifications**:
**Qualifications required**:
Post-secondary analytical chemistry lab experience required (academic or work experience)
Exposure to analytical instrumentation an asset (e.g., HPLC, GC, spectrophotometers)
Self-starter, able to work independently but also as part of a small team.
Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to relate to all levels of personnel throughout the organization.
