Dispatch Planner

The Dispatcher is responsible for planning, dispatching and troubleshooting. This includes maintaining communication and data integrity throughout in order to prevent systemic service failures.

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 3:00pm.
- On call component is required
- Must be flexible as you may be required to cover vacation and sick calls of other members of the team.

Location: Airdrie

**Responsibilities**:

- Act as the single point of contact for the fleet
- Plan and schedule deliveries to ensure operational efficiency & customer satisfaction.
- Responding to various types of operational issues including, but not limited to: equipment breakdowns, driver re-assignments, load delays or cancellations, etc.
- Communicate with customers as to any delays
- Continually monitor road and weather reports and communicating any delays that may occur in order to keep our fleet safe on the roads.

**Skills & Abilities**
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Must be team player with strong commitment to quality and customer service
- 1 year of transportation dispatch experience an asset
- Transportation industry knowledge and experience an asset
- Must have strong geographical knowledge
- Knowledge of (AS/400, Excel and Lotus notes) an asset
- Ability to evaluate data and options for action and to reach sound conclusions
- Able to deal with sensitive issues in a tactful, diplomatic, and professional manner at all times
- Able to work well under pressure
- Flexible, able to deal with change
- Very organized, with excellent multi-tasking and problem solving skills
- Excellent customer service/communication skills
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
