The Income Taxation Branch (ITB)’s role within the Revenue Division includes ensuring responsive, effective, and fair revenue, tax, tax credit and benefit administration that contributes to the funding of provincial programs and services. ITB includes the following primary business areas:

- Administration, compliance and enforcement activities under the Employer Health Tax Act, the Insurance Premium Tax Act, the Logging Tax Act, and Part 11.1 of the Forest Act (Forest Revenue Audit Program).
- Relationship management with the CRA and governance of their administration of British Columbia’s Income Tax Act revenues and various tax credit and benefit programs under the Tax Collection Agreement (TCA) between the Government of Canada and the Government of the Province of British Columbia as well as coordinating provincial efforts with the CRA to combat the underground economy.
- Leading the negotiation of various agreements with other government bodies, such as information sharing agreements, on behalf of the Revenue Division.

In this position you are a part of a unit of Audit Analysts and Technicians engaged in compliance activities, database administration, audit assessments, and credit program verification.

You conduct preliminary desk audits including the review, analysis, and processing of tax returns and documentation filed, reconcile payment calculations, develop, and support administrative processes, and provide exceptional customer service by responding to oral and written inquiries from taxpayers and their representatives.

You are organized and detailed, capable of prioritizing and managing assignments and projects, and have excellent communication skills that allow you to provide information and interpretation of policies and legislation to a variety of stakeholders. You exhibit professionalism, confidentiality, and sensitivity when resolving complex issues and confrontational situations, and work well independently and with others in a collaborative environment.

**Job Requirements**:

- Certificate in a related accounting/finance or business field, and one (1) year of **related experience**. An equivalent combination of education and **related experience** may be considered.
- **Related experience must include the following**:

- Experience preparing, auditing, or reviewing and analyzing financial statements or tax returns, or budget preparation and analysis.

**Preference may be given to applicants with the following**:

- More than one (1) year of **related experience**.
- Enrolment in the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) or completion of at least 10 of the 14 CPA Preparatory courses (PREP) and actively pursuing the CPA designation.
- Experience in tax administration.

**About this Position**:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
