**We are looking for a Program Manager, Corporate Health & Safety**

Reporting to the AVP, Employee Well-being, Pension and Benefits, the Program Manager, Health & Safety plays a key role on the HR Wellness & Benefits management team. The incumbent will be accountable for the employer functions of Canada Life by ensuring overall legislative compliance and Health and Safety policy/procedure development.

This is a part-time, hybrid role working 30 hours per week. The role will be based out of our Winnipeg office at 100 Osborne St. N.

**How you’ll make a difference**:
Supporting the execution of the Well-being Strategy and managing Health & Safety initiatives:

- Working collaboratively to support our well-being philosophy & strategy - financial, physical and mental well-being
- Developing and implementing employer occupational Health and Safety policies, programs and procedures
- Conducting employer Occupational Health and Safety audits to ensure regulatory compliance
- Participating as a technical expert to our workplace health and safety committees across the company
- Coordinating and carrying out investigations for workplace incidents and accidents, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation
- Maintaining health and safety records, preparing presentations and reports as required
- Overseeing first aid training and supply accounts
- Conducting risk assessments as required to ensure compliance with provincial legislation
- Recommending initiatives/programs and acting as a consultant for senior HR leadership and business leaders regarding data analysis and opportunities (gap analyses, needs assessments, environmental scans, benchmarking, etc) related to health & safety
- Reviewing and developing (in collaboration with HR senior management) supporting organizational policies related to health & safety which align to organization strategy (as needed)

**What you’ll bring**:
**Experience**
- 7+ year of experience in Occupational Health and Safety
- Demonstrated knowledge of provincial Worker’s Compensation legislation
- Experience with budget management
- Experience designing and implementing health & safety programs

**Education**
- Post-secondary education in Health, Safety and Environment
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) (or other comparable) certification or designation is an asset

**Skills**
- Trusted Advisor - with ability to foster strong working relationships, and to be responsive in time-sensitive situations such as following a workplace incident or accident
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Technologically Proficient - comfortable using MS Office 365 (One Note, One Drive, Word, Teams and Outlook) and familiar with Windows 10 Ease of Access features
- Innovative thinker - with ability to identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies
- Execute for Results - strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Critical Thinker - good problem-solving skills, self-driven to seek effective solutions
- Strategic Partner - ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment

**Preferred but not required**
- The ability to work in both English and French is a strong asset
