**WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?**

We are looking for camp instructors in Victoria, BC who are proficient in teaching a Public speaking, Leadership and STEM programs to join our friendly, professional, and enthusiastic team

You can use your background in education, psychology, counselling, social emotional learning to educate children and youth through our curriculum of interactive, hands-on, growth mindset, mindfulness, 21st century skill lessons.

We're looking for instructors who have experience working with children (ages 6-13 years) in a class or camp setting. You are an organizer, multi-tasker, adaptable, flexible and a leader ensuring a fun and safe environment while being a team player with other staff with ability to instruct and implement a wide variety of lessons and programs.

**SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Responsible for the successful facilitation and instruction of Future Ready Minds programs during our Camp programs for children ages 6-12 years.
- Ability to use existing curriculum to create own lesson plans and research other activities and games to provide a quality experience for each program.
- Implementing lessons, leading recreational activities/games (indoors and outdoors), and supervising all participants.
- Managing classroom behaviours and providing support to children experiencing difficulty settling in.
- Creating a safe, fun, interactive learning environment that stimulates every child's creativity, communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.
- Planning and organizing oneself to ensure that all program essential materials have been communicated and are available or procured as needed for the class.
- Timely, effective and respectful communication with the children, supervisors and staff, school and venue partners and parents is vital.
- Availability during the weeks of March 18 - 28 and ability to work Monday - Friday each week.
- Training and planning for the position will be prior to the camp start date.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Background in education, sciences, psychology, or counselling is an asset.
- Energy, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn new lessons and activities to engage diverse groups of children & youth.
- Experience working with children in group/camp settings is a must.
- Excellent communication skills that demonstrate professionalism.
- Strong organizational, time-management, teaching, and behaviour management skills.
- A flexible mindset. You're able to adapt, communicate, and innovate in a wide range of settings.
- Proficient in using zoom, google docs, power point, canva and setting up a projector for presentations.
- Must have access to a laptop or tablet for use to deliver the lessons.
- Knowledge of other languages especially mandarin and cantonese are an asset.
- Ability to provide a recent criminal reference check.
- Valid Standard First-Aid/CPR Certification.
- All Instructors are required to follow safety protocols pertinent to each venue.

We provide the curriculum, training, and methodology for every Future Ready Minds program. As the instructor you are responsible to create your weekly lesson plans from the curriculum and incorporate other fun games and activities (research is required) that will support program objectives.
