**Salary**: $22.94 - $28.64/Hour

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (35 hours per week)

Job Reports To: Senior Manager, Communications.

**Key Activities**:
Under the supervision and mentorship of the Senior Manager, Communications, the Summer student, Communications, will be responsible of creating social media content, posting social media content, contributing to an image bank for social media, contributing to updating editorial calendars, planning content for various platforms for months ahead. The incumbent will also work closely with the Communications Strategist, Social Media. They will also have the opportunity to be coached by all the Communications Strategists in various contexts

**Skill Requirements**:

- A minimum of a high school diploma combined with experience in Communications;
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills;
- Ability to write persuasive and compelling content, including online stories, social media posts, web content, projects/events credits and descriptions, letters, and other communications, as required;
- Proficient in MS Office suite, including Teams is an asset;
- Attention to detail, precision and adaptability;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to follow directions and work with limited supervision;
- Must be able to maintain discretion and absolute confidentiality at all times;
- Ability to communicate in both official languages (English and French) is an asset.

**Who Can Apply**:

- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment.
- Must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
- Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents who identify as women, Indigenous, Black, Persons of Colour (IBPoC), persons from the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and persons with disabilities.

**International students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible. As the objective of the Canada Summer Jobs program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student’s time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market.
