Do you want to be a Mad Scientist? Mad Science of Ottawa is searching for talented people to animate our science workshops. Our animators will run extra-curricular activities during the lunch hour and/or after school around the National Capital Region. Help elementary level children discover the wonders of science as it is around them everyday Show them cool optical illusions, science magic tricks, how cotton candy is made, witness a NASA style rocket launch, blow out candles with the use of a vortex generator, chemical reactions, ride on a hoverboard, make explosions and much much more We also do birthday partys and shows on the weekend. No science experience is necessary. We provide you with training for all workshops. Whether you are looking for a few hours or many hours per week, we have work for you

**Responsibilities**:

- Complete the paid training for each workshop
- Animate science workshops to children
- Getting to your school on time
- Ensuring that your activity is safe for your participants and yourself

**Profile of a Mad Science animator**:

- Access to a car
- Bilingual (French and English)
- 1 to 2 years of experience working with children in daycare, summer camps, tutoring or other.
- good connection with children of all ages
- Responsible and organized
- Great interpersonal skills comfortable in front of a crowd
- Dynamic, creative and a good sense of adaptation
- **Salary: From $52 per activity (max 90 min) and $20 per additional hour. We pay 0,32$/km for transport above 36 kilometers.**_

**Responsabilités**:

- Animer des expériences scientifiques à des enfants.**
**- Encadrer les activités en s’assurant de sa sécurité et celle des participants.**

**-Compléter les formations (rémunérées) au bureau quelques jours avant l'animation.**
**- Arriver à l'heure dans les écoles primaires**

**Exigences pour le poste et profil recherché**:

- Accès à un véhicule
- Au moins 1 à 2 ans d’expériences en matière de garde d’enfants, d’enseignement, dans les camps ou toutes autres expériences reliées à l'animation.
- Excellentes aptitudes en relations interpersonnelles
- Habileté à communiquer devant un public.
- Avoir un grand sens des responsabilités et de la débrouillardise
- Être dynamique, créatif, patient et avoir une bonne capacité d’adaptation
- **Salaire : À partir 52,00$ par atelier (durée maximale 90 min) et 20$ par activité additionnelle dans un même établissement. Nous payons 0.32$/km de transport à partir du 37ème km.**_
