We are looking for an experienced, dedicated, career focused **Quality Assurance Technician**, with a passion for the bakery food industry, to support our growing business. Reporting directly to our Quality Assurance Manager, the QA Technician will take responsibility ownership to ensure that the Company’s quality standards, protocol, and procedures are met, and aligned with regulatory legislative compliance, to the customer’s specifications.

This important position will work closely with the Company’s internal stakeholders and the facilities’ cross-functional operation teams, not limited to - Production, Quality Assurance, R & D, Warehouse & Logistics personnel.

**Job Essentials**
- Critically monitor the product and ingredients produced from start-to-finish process.
- Application of regulatory compliance protocols, policies, and standard operating procedures in accordance to food safety and quality program, relating to product materials, packaging and labelling inspections.
- Ensures product conforms to CFIA, SQF, and customer specification requirements.
- Conducts internal QA audits, compliant with Company’s policies, practices, procedures.
- Provides critical support of new product development and continuous improvement initiatives through integration of the Company’s quality tools to production processes.
- Monitor and test the Company’s Sanitation Program throughout the facility.
- Profiles, evaluates product material for defects and nonconformities to ensure food safety, quality, and customer requirements are being met.
- Responsible for ensuring validation verification activities are completed, including reviews, on-site observation, interviews, and overall quality SOP compliance.
- Reviews Certificate of Analysis (COA’s).
- Controls, monitors, and ensures appropriate product holds and disposition of defect items from production.
- Assists QA Manager/SQF Practioner with document compliance, in the review, maintenance, control of documents relating to product quality process programs.
- Educate and train staff as it pertains to the Company’s Quality programs, (GMP, Food Safety, HACCP, Allergen, etc.).
- Champion, promote, advocate, quality standards achievement and performance improvements throughout the Company.

- Post-secondary education, food science degree and/or food safety program certification.
- Minimum experienced two (2) years of direct Quality Assurance bakery work experience.
- You are an analytical, detail driven, results-oriented, critical thinker.
- Strong communication skills - verbal and written.
- You hold a proven track record of your strong work ethic, demonstrating exceptional capabilities to prioritize, manage competing deadlines, a time resources effectively.
- You thrive in a fast-pace, high-volume (food) production environment, while consistently delivering innovative, creative problem-solving or continuous improvement solutions.
- You have successfully mastered being flexible, adapting, adjusting to stressful changing work assignment demands,
- You are a self-directed professional that works well independently or in a team environment.
- You hold a strong customer focus orientation in your service delivery approach.
- You hold yourself accountable, take pride in your work, and manage working relationships with a high degree of professionalism and integrity,
- Post-secondary education - Food Science degree and/or Food Safety certification program.
