Overview:
The Quality Control Technical will be a part of the Brookfield Quality Control team and will be responsible for varying roles within the Quality Department to ensure quality standards are met for raw materials, clinker, and cement.
**Responsibilities**:
**Health and Safety**
- Respect and promote safe practices in the laboratory by adopting appropriate behaviors;
- Make sure to handle chemicals safely, respecting the environment;
- Make sure to handle laboratory equipment and mechanical devices safely.
**Responsibilities**:
- Perform analyzes according to different standards such as ASTM, AASHTO, CSA and others;
- Be responsible for the proper use of the equipment and its maintenance and follow-up;
- Participate in inter-laboratory test campaigns such as CCRL, RRT and CSA;
- Respect the quality assurance program of the laboratory;
- Assist in managing the laboratory warehouse space
- Communicate with other team members about observations made in the field
- Communicate with other team members and the supervisor about observations made on health and safety practices;
- Improve our work efficiency by using his experience acquired beforehand
Qualifications:
- Minimum education of a College diploma in civil engineering, chemistry or equivalence, or relevant work experience.
- Experience in a laboratory is considered an asset;
- Good knowledge of the required analytical techniques;
- Good knowledge in quality control.
**Technical expertise**
- Demonstrate good analytical and good judgmental skills;
- Demonstrate good manual dexterity;
- Be responsible for the maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of certain equipment;
- Be able to update testing procedures;
- Be proficient in the following methods, (an advantage):
- Resistance in compression on mortar;
- Sulphate resistance;
- Shrinkage/expansion measurement on mortar;
- Setting time (Vicat);
- Finesse (Blaine and 45 um);
**Skills**
- Be stimulated by teamwork;
- Be organized and autonomous;
- Demonstrate ease of adaptation, flexible and open to change;
- Demonstrate initiative;
- Be able to share his knowledge;
- Demonstrate a desire to learn;
- Honest and reliable;
- Have knowledge and skills with different operating systems (Microsoft);
- Have the ability to express themselves orally and in writing in French and English.
