Overview:
The prime objective of the Maintenance Supervisor coordinate and supervise mechanical and mobile maintenance activities to achieve the highest level of quality, safety and effectiveness to maximize equipment availability of plant equipment in compliance with H&S as well as environmental rules and regulations. This position is based out of our Brookfield Cement Plant.

**Responsibilities**:

- Health, Safety and Environment: Demonstrate a commitment to communication, improvement and adherence to safety policies on all work environments and with employees, subcontractors and site visitors. Identifies, plans and collaborates with the Environment team for compliance with legislation and policies. Knowledge and support of the cement plant’s ISO 14001 environmental management system including awareness of the specific responsibilities described in the program. Ensure that any changes to plant equipment are verified by Health, Safety and Environment Managers and other departments to ensure that corporate and regulatory requirements are met.
- Supervise the execution of daily/weekly maintenance repairs; recommend technical improvements for cost reductions.
- Administrate work order system by generating notifications, closing work orders and recording data base and trends. Assure the quality of the job of maintenance Mechanics in the field. Ensure the proper storage of lubricants and cleanliness of the warehouse and the maintenance shop; manage inventory levels of key parts and supplies.
- Optimize efficiency of completed work orders, and balance the workload for each week of the year. Participate in weekly planning meetings as well as in major shut-down meetings to coordinate jobs with other departments.
- Plan and coordinate work carried out by third parties. Oversees third party work in order to support maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with the planning team on the development/optimization of job planning. Follow and report the Maintenance Planning KPIs, maintenance cost compared to budget, third party service cost analysis, unplanned downtime and work order efficiency.
- Assist in preparing the annual maintenance budget.
- Create/optimize with own personnel and/or with suppliers, innovative techniques and advanced technology procedures to assure the quality of the job and reduce downtime.
- Establish the training programs needed for crew personnel, schedule available suppliers training based on Frame Contract.
- Coordinates meetings with suppliers to check new/innovative developments or new techniques available to optimize the workload and the equipment. Provide assistance in the mechanical design and execution of plant projects

**Relationships with Others Jobs**:

- The role reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Supervisor works closely with various managers and supervisors who influence and/or manage the overall maintenance of the plant.

- Coordinate with other departments and organize personnel for repairs as well as for big repairs and shutdowns.
- Monitor job duration, cost and performance of his/her crew and subcontractors working under his/her responsibility. Monitor and control overtime.
- Contribute to minimizing the level of equipment failure rate.
- Record adjustment measurements / anomalies observed on the equipment during work execution or inspection.
- Supervise, train and develop direct reports to achieve department goals in a manner to create employee ownership; create bench strength and succession plans.

Qualifications:

Education & Work Experience_**
- Journeyman - Mechanical Trade
- Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience in an industrial environment, preferably in the cement or heavy manufacturing industry; and at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
