**_ Autoport Limited is looking for an Operations Manager at its facility located in Eastern Passage_**

The Operations Manager is accountable to observe and report on compliance with all operating and safety rules, implementing departmental safety initiatives, and supporting inter-departmental safety goals and objectives. This position is responsible to foster strong working relationships with all of Autoport’s trucking carriers, with a focus on the timely and safe movement of product throughout the entire process from arrival though to yard exit.

The Operations Manager is also jointly responsible for the coaching and development of operations supervisors in conjunction with the Marine Manager. The primary focus is on effective communication and operational planning with a focus on long-term success. This includes utilizing team and morale building skills to facilitate the implementation and execution of safety related and other operational initiatives

**Major Responsibilities and Duties**
- Lead a team of operations supervisors ensuring clear direction is given daily
- Ensure that targets for loading and unloading of both vessel as well as pulling loads for convoy exits are obtained.
- Create and post weekly game plan for the operations crews.
- Set daily goals for the department
- Jointly manage vacation schedules for all Operations department with the Marine Manager
- Enter daily production reports
- Communicate and deal with trucking carrier issues
- Build safety compliance and improve safety results through regular efficiency tests, PMRC and walkabouts, provide feedback (both positive and constructive) to subordinates and take action on non-compliant behavior.
- Ensure proper training, auditing, and enforcement of standard operating procedures.
- Manage, direct and provide insight and follow-up to staff of Operations Supervisors and unionized team members

**Qualifications and Requirements**
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong financial background to support meeting financial objectives of the organization.
- Strong project management skills with comfort in leading a team.
- Conform to safety procedures and maintain a high level of safety awareness in the work environment.
- Must be able to assess and correct problems in stressful situations with tight time constraints.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to facilitate and execute coordinated service delivery
- Ability to delegate, monitor, and provide guidance to sub-teams in order to facilitate the completion of special projects related to safety and operational initiatives.
- University or college graduate degree in a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in the transportation industry.
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
- Rail and/or automotive experience considered an asset.
- Previous experience with transportation providers that specialize in the automotive industry considered an asset.
- Must be able to manage an extensive workforce and develop timely solutions to operating problems.
