**_ Autoport Limited is looking for a Rail Manager at its facility located in Eastern Passage_**

The Rail Manager is accountable to observe and report on compliance with all operating and safety rules, implementing departmental safety initiatives, and supporting inter-departmental safety goals and objectives.

The Rail Manager is also responsible for the coaching and development of rail supervisors. The primary focus is on effective communication and operational planning with a focus on long-term success. This includes utilizing team and morale building skills to facilitate the implementation and execution of safety-related and other operational initiatives.

**Major Responsibilities and Duties**
- Lead a team of Rail supervisors, ensuring clear direction is provided daily.
- Ensure that targets for loading and unloading are obtained.
- Set the daily goal and work plan for the department.
- Continually refine, optimize and simplify all operating processes to allow for a more efficient execution of tasks while continuing to work within safety guidelines.
- Communicate and problem-solve with third-party carriers.
- Communicate with the Port Marine, Operations, and Service Managers in order to load aging VINs and maintain yard fluidity.
- Provide rotational weekend coverage as the on-call manager as shared between all of the Nova Leads.
- Provide vacation coverage for another Nova Lead as required on a rotational basis
- Create and maintain a safety-conscious workplace, and improve safety results through regular efficiency tests, PMRC and walkabouts, coaching/counselling, and taking action on non-compliant behaviour.
- Manage, direct, and provide insight and follow-up to staff of Rail Supervisors and unionized team members.

**Qualifications and Requirements**
- Strong project management skills with comfort in leading a team.
- Conform to safety procedures and maintain a high level of safety awareness in the work environment.
- University or college graduate degree in a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in the transportation industry.
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
- Satisfactory background check
- Valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract
