The ABB Measurement and Analytics plant in Québec is the world leader in spectroscopy. Our Contract Engineering Department is Canada's largest supplier of space optical sensors used, among other things, for greenhouse gas emissions monitoring and weather forecasting worldwide. Our plant is also known for its expertise in the development and manufacture of various products that make it possible to meet several industrial analysis needs on a daily basis. By joining one of the largest engineering departments in Quebec City (Canada), you will actively contribute to the activities of a dynamic and stimulating multidisciplinary team. You will be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team within the Measurement and Analytics business unit in Quebec City. Within the scope of your duties, you will focus on the establishment and improvement of a new manufacturing production cell dedicated to the manufacture of analytical and remote sensing instruments for space missions. You must ensure successful delivery on time, within budget, and in accordance with the quality and safety guidelines. You will contribute to the improvement of the tools and processes, in order to optimize delivery turnarounds, production costs, and quality. You will report to the space production team supervisor in the Engineering Department.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Contribute to the establishment of a manufacturing unit dedicated to the production of space optical instruments.
- Manage improvement projects to optimize the production capacity of this new manufacturing cell.
- Manage cost-reduction projects and optimize the flow of materials from receiving to fabrication.
- Define new methods, identify tools.
- Adapt the commercial manufacturing processes, already established in the company, to the new reality of space instrument production.
- Analyze and understand the performance of the production team through KPI (Key Performance Indicator) monitoring.
- Act as a technical reference for the Engineering Department by putting forward the skills of your particular field (industrial engineering).
- Collaborate with the various engineering disciplines to deliver quality space optical instruments on time, while complying with the standardized procedures and methodologies for operational space and/or commercial space.

**Your background**:

- University studies in industrial engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the field. Technical training or equivalent experience will be considered.
- Good comprehension of English, both spoken and written.
- Good knowledge of operational tools, such as planning software (ERP, e.g. SAP) and production modeling tools (e.g. Arena).
- Be comfortable with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Have a high level of personal motivation, be autonomous, and show initiative.
- Be order-oriented and quality-minded.
- Have a collaborative, solution-oriented approach with strong spoken and written communication skills.
- An asset: be familiar with NASA manufacturing standards (NASA-STD-8739.1, NASA-STD-8739.4, IPC J-STD-001 and its space addendum).
- An asset: experience working in clean rooms and knowledge of the Windchill and Atlassian JIRA tools.
