**Scope**:
Under the direct supervision of the Mental Health and Addictions Program Manager and the overall supervision of the Executive Director, the Indigenous Child and Youth Outreach Therapist will have the primary responsibility for the development and delivery of a therapeutic counselling service targeting

Indigenous youth and families throughout Simcoe County. This service will be a component of the Enaahtig

Healing Lodge and Learning Centre, Mental Health and Addictions program. This position is expected to counsel and provide support to community members who are experiencing mental health and addiction issues using wholistic and culturally appropriate methods.

**Responsibilities**:

- Design and develop counselling service parameters that ensure a well-balanced delivery, cognizant of the overall goals and objectives of the Lodge;
- Provide direct services for Indigenous youth and their families who request supports with management and treatment options who are living with mental health/and or addictions;
- Provide direct support by counselling, case management, referrals, accessing assessments and group work;
- Developing and implementing plans of service and ensuring follow-up is completed
- Coordinating and facilitating access to traditional healing and other cultural programming;
- To be part of an Indigenous mental health service support network;
- Establish and maintain working relationships within the Indigenous community in the Simcoe region;
- Coordinating care with other health professionals, education bodies, justice personnel, child welfare services;
- To participate in internal and external outreach;
- Maintain accurate client records and other statistical data;
- Ensure reporting requirements are met;
- Attend staff and team meetings as required;
- Attend professional development opportunities as they arise and in alignment with work plans;
- Conform to ethical standards of practice and to exercise client confidentiality and protection of privacy;
- Ensure adequate care for all materials provided for the program.

**Qualifications**:

- A Master’s Social Work degree or an undergraduate degree in a related field with experience working within the Indigenous Community, a minimum three year. In related field of addictions, mental health, social issues.
- To possess three years’ minimum experience of counselling, crisis intervention and community development interventions, while working within the Indigenous community.
- A satisfactory criminal reference search for vulnerable populations.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Have or willing to obtain CPR/First Aid, PMAB, ASIST Trainings.
- Must be willing to obtain or have a current Criminal Records Screening including the Vulnerable Sector.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and provide a current Driver’s Record Search.

**Salary & Benefits**:

- Salary: $65,000 - $72,800.00 per year

- Additional 4% vacation pay
